Sea level rise is one significant effect of the changing climate on Earth. A new study using NASA satellite data shows the rate of global sea level rise has been accelerating in recent decades, rather than increasing steadily. The upshot? Globally, sea levels could rise 26 inches by 2100. That's enough to cause problems for coastal cities around the planet. A warming climate raises sea level in two ways. First, warmer water expands as it heats up, which has contributed about half of the sea leve
