Grief isn’t isolated to death. It can show up as the loss of self. The loss of ability. The loss of a time or era of life. The loss of a relationship. The loss that comes with leaving a place that shaped you. Sometimes it even shows up before the loss happens. You can mourn who you were. What you could do. What you thought would last longer. How a place that once became a home. What didn’t get to become what you hoped. And you can still feel excitement for what’s next, the newest chapter of life
