Saturday was an opportunity for both the Pirates and Mike Burrows to bounce back. For the Pirates, a chance to distance themselves from an ugly loss to the White Sox on Friday night, when they allowed 10 runs.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were shut out 1-0 by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 11 innings on Friday night at PNC Park. Rookie starter Mike Burrows had the best outing of his young career, but the Bucs only recorded one hit in another futile night for the bats.

Burrows did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 10-4 loss to the White Sox, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings.
