Columbus Blue Jackets fans showed love to the late Johnny Gaudreau's family at a game on Saturday, serenading his son as he celebrated his first birthday in a moment that attracted some viral attention.

In addition to Meredith and their children, Johnny is survived by the brothers’ parents and their two sisters. Matthew is also survived by his wife, Madeline Gaudreau, and their infant son, Tripp. Madeline also shared a birthday tribute to her young nephew on Saturday.

A sellout crowd filled Nationwide Arena, and along with getting a chance to watch a surprisingly competitive team in a big game, they also had a chance to welcome the family of the late Johnny Gaudreau to the game.
