The entrepreneur will continue leading Donald J. Trump’s government efficiency project before turning his attention to a campaign. He has encountered some turbulence with Mr. Trump, and with Elon Musk.

DeWine will hold a news conference at 1 p.m., but his office declined to provide further details about topic of discussion.

JD Vance resigned from his seat last week and since then, there have been questions and speculations on who DeWine would choose to fill the seat.
