Roads and bridges in western Montana were wiped out by powerful flooding last week after some areas saw around half a foot of rain. Rapid snowmelt added to the runoff, sending water rushing into creeks and rivers.
LIBBY — The Lincoln County commissioners have declared a state of emergency, and an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been activated in response to Thursday's flooding conditions. The Lincoln County Emergency Response Center can be reached at 406-293-6295. The City of Troy has also declared a state of emergency due to flooding.

Between Snohomish PUD and Puget Sound Energy, more than 45,000 customers were without power just before 3 p.m. Over 25,000 of those were PSE customers, including a large portion of the Kitsap Peninsula. The Snohomish PUD outages included parts of Everett, Marysville, and Arlington.
BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – Van Giesen Street is closed between Terminal Drive and 38th Street because of flooding. The Yakima River rose Saturday morning, and the road now requires a closure for all lanes, according to the Richland Police Department. Police will provide updates as they become available.
A shocking moment caught on camera shows a raging creek tearing through a bridge and claiming a road in Libby, Montana.
Montana Secondary Highway 482, Farm to Market Road, is closed south of Libby. The National Weather Service reports approximately 6 inches of water is over the road on West 2nd Street by Parmenter Creek in the Libby area. NWS also reports the 5th Street bridge is underwater at Libby Creek and that the road is closed.
Flood evacuation warnings have expanded to the Yakima River corridor in the Selah area because of rising water levels and hazardous conditions.
Deer Creek Bridge, near DeBorgia in the Superior Ranger District, is closed after being severely damaged during flooding, according to the Lolo National Forest.
The City of Sumner has closed the Stewart Road Bridge because of flooding from the White River.
