Top seed Jannik Sinner eased into the Wimbledon second round on Tuesday, brushing aside fellow Italian Luca Nardi in straight sets. The Italian will hope he continues hitting all the right notes in his Wimbledon title bid.

World number one Jannik Sinner beat world number 94 Luca Nardi in straight sets in the first round at Wimbledon Tuesday. The South Tyrolean Sinner, 23, beat Pesaro-born Nardi, 21, 6-4 6-3 6-0. Two-time Aussie and one-time US champ Sinner is bidding for his first title in South West London.

With the win, Cocciaretto will advance to the second round at Wimbledon for the third time in her career. She made it as far as the third round in 2023, but missed the tournament in 2024 due to an illness.
