While Utah members celebrated the Trump administration milestone with praise, some acknowledged short-term pain for constituents amid uncertainty surrounding Trump’s tariff strategy.

Trump, who has called climate change “a hoax,” took more than $75 million in campaign contributions from oil and gas interests, and campaigned on a pledge to “drill, baby, drill.” And, in the first months of his second term, he has made good on his promise to promote the oil and gas industry.

Trump’s second term has seen a significant increase in executive orders, with more than 140 signed in his first 100 days, and a decline in his approval rating.
