NEW YORK (AP) — General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles across its Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands in the U.S. due to potential manufacturing defects that can cause engine failure.

Expenses related to its 6.2-liter V-8 and higher claims due to software issues from EVs that launched over the past few years increased by $300M.

The recall covers certain 2018 and 2019 model year vehicles, including the Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac CT6 and Chevrolet Volt.
