Demonstrators hit the streets again in L.A. after President Trump deployed the National Guard due to protests against ICE raids.

The Los Angeles Police Department has declared all of downtown as an unlawful assembly, telling all demonstrators to leave the area immediately. "Downtown Los Angeles has been declared as an UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY. You are to leave the Downtown Area immediately," police said on X.

Nationwide protests against President Trump’s crackdown on immigration are putting Democrats in tricky political territory ahead of the high-stakes midterms. After demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids roiled Los Angeles and prompted Trump to call in the National Guard despite California’s objections,

"It looks like Steven Miller got ahold of Trump’s phone again," said Diana Crofts-Pelayo, spokesperson for the governor's office.

In Los Angeles, 38 people were arrested downtown on Saturday night, police said Sunday. In Huntington Beach, police arrested a convicted felon they said had a loaded handgun.

The demonstrations come on the heels of protests flaring up around the country over federal immigration enforcement raids that began last week and Trump ordering National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles where protesters blocked a freeway and set cars on fire.

Thousands of protesters across the US marched against the Trump administration as part the "No Kings" movement Saturday, June 14.

More than 1,500 events were announced throughout the U.S. to send a loud message to President Donald Trump: “In America, we don’t do kings.”
