The surfboard paddle out in Huntington Beach on International Surfing Day commemorated the legendary musician who died June 11 at the age of 82.

On Saturday, June 21, a tradition of that surf culture, a “paddle out” to celebrate a life, was held at the iconic Huntington Beach Pier for Brian Wilson, one of The Beach Boys’ founders and co-writer of the famous song that became the namesake of the beach town.

Brian Wilson, leader, songwriter and producer of the Beach Boys, has passed away at age 82. He leaves behind a legacy of beautiful, joyous, bittersweet and enduring music, crafted over a career spanning six decades.
