House Democrats returned to the Texas Capitol on Monday, bringing an end to a two-week quorum break in protest against a bill that would change the state’s congressional maps to add five Republican-leaning seats.

Returning Democrats were met with restrictions to their movement, including being under the watchful eye of state police officers to ensure their attendance is not temporary.
