Construction at Durham Station is expected to take until the end of 2026. The station will remain open and fully operational during that time.

After complaints from riders visiting Durham Station, the city’s public transit system banned smoking for all indoor and outdoor areas.

The $26 million improvements to the downtown Durham Bus Station will mean more bus bays and the city will add more electric buses to its fleet.

Federal grants, county tax revenue will help Durham Station downtown get new bus bays, restrooms, seating and canopies to protect riders.
