Red Bull’s takeover of Newcastle has been confirmed three months after whispers about a possible deal first emerged in May.

Energy drink giant Red Bull has completed a takeover deal for Prem Rugby club Newcastle Falcons that will see the struggling side rebranded as the Newcastle Red Bulls.

Austrian energy drink company Red Bull has taken full ownership of Newcastle Falcons, who will be renamed Newcastle Red Bulls, the Premiership Rugby side said on Tuesday.
