NEW ORLEANS — Fighters from around the country squared off Friday night at Xavier University for Power Slap 14, the first U.S. event outside Las Vegas for the slap-fighting competition backed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President and CEO Dana White.

Holloway, a former Featherweight champion, is looking to bounce back after losing to Illia Topuria by knockout at UFC 208 last October. He won the BMF title at UFC 300, knocking out Justin Gaethje. He has a career record of 26-8, with 12 wins coming by knockout.

The early weigh-ins take place at the UFC host hotel in New Orleans and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 6 p.m. ET at Smoothie King Center. The same venue hosts Saturday's event (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+).
