Tornado watches and warnings have been issued across major parts of central and southern Illinois, as well as counties south of Chicago. Find out where.

As of 1:35 p.m., much of Illinois is in a Tornado Watch, while a tornado warning is in effect for south Tazewell County. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near San Jose at 1:35 p.m., or 10 miles northeast of Mason City, moving northeast at 15 mph.

The National Weather Service on Wednesday afternoon issued tornado watches for northern Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. The southern regions of those counties were under severe thunderstorm warnings as of 2:30 p.
