Accused Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter's alleged plan to kill more politicians on his target list was foiled by a police sergeant's proactive hunch.

Vance Boelter is accused of shooting Democratic state Rep. Melissa Hortman and state Sen. John Hoffman in “politically motivated” attacks.

U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson announced that the suspect in the murder and attempted murder of Minnesota state lawmakers was charged with six federal crimes in addition to state charges.
